Using the Journal



In this section we'll explain how to use Weight Wizard to record foods and exercises in the Journal. If you need additional instructions on how to use the Journal in Weight Wizard click here.


Using the My Plan Printout

Before we discuss how to use the Journal for recording foods and exercises, we'll go over how to use the My Plan printout.

My Plan Printout

In the last chapter we showed how to view the My Plan window from the Planner. This window can be conveniently printed out and used as a guide throughout the day.

The My Plan printout gives you an outline of what you have planned for the day. You can take this printout with you to keep track of your foods and exercises. It's a great way to keep track of what you have planned and stay organized. As you eat one of the foods listed on the printout or perform one of the planned exercises, simply mark it off with a pen. The printout has check boxes conveniently placed at the side of each entry. If you eat any foods or perform any exercises that weren't planned, just write them down on the back side of the printout. This is a very straight forward and easy way to keep track of your diet plan.

At the end of the day, you can easily enter the foods and exercises that you have marked off in your Journal, using the Today's Plan window.


Using the Today's Food Plan window to easily record foods and meals

The Today's Food Plan window gives you an easy way of entering any foods that have been recorded in the Planner to your Food Journal. It saves you the time of having to add the food items individually.

To view the Today's Food Plan window, click on the Today's Plan button in the Food Journal.

Today's Food Plan

This window shows you all of the foods that you have planned for this day in the Planner. It also shows the same foods that are on the My Plan printout. To select a food item to be added to the Journal, make sure that it is checked on the left hand side. By default, all of the food items should be checked.

If you are using the My Plan printout, you can now make sure that the foods that you have eaten throughout the day are marked in the Today's Food Plan window. When you are finished selecting the foods, click on the Add Selected button to add the foods to the Food Journal. The Food Journal will now have a list of all of the foods that were added from the Today's Food Plan window. Any foods added to the Food Journal in this way will show up in green. This allows you to easily see which foods entered in the Food Journal were planned and which ones weren't.


Adding foods individually

Food items can also be added individually from the food database. To add an individual item, click on the Add button in the Food Journal. This allows you to add foods that you might have eaten throughout the day, but weren't entered in the Planner. If you are using the My Plan printout, you may have written these foods down on the back side of the page. Any foods added to the Food Journal in this way will show up as black.


Using the Today's Exercise Plan to record daily exercises

Today's Exercise Plan

The Today's Exercise Plan works in a similar way as the Today's Food Plan window. To open it, simply click on the Today's Plan button from the Exercise Journal. This window shows what exercises you have planned for this day in the Planner. It also shows the same exercises listed on the My Plan printout.

To add any of the exercises, click on the Add button to left of the description. The exercise will now show up in your Exercise Journal.

Use the My Plan printout to keep track of what exercises you have performed throughout the day.

To add an exercise that was not planned in the Planner, click on the Add button and select it from the list of exercises.


Summary

Bring the printout with you during the day and use a pen to check off foods and exercises as you stay with your plan. Write down any foods or exercises that weren't planned on the back of the page.
